MEDICAL FACILITIES

Al-Shifa Trust is one of the most modern rehabilitation centre in Pakistan which is providing a complete range of rehabilitation services to the special children and adults. Some of them are as under:

Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy department is divided into two sections; one is for the treatment of cerebral palsied and the other for the other physically handicapped children. This department is fully equipped with all neuro-developmental equipments like wedges, special sitter, balancing board, neuro-developmental balls, special standing frames, gait trainer and walker etc.

The other section is the physiotherapy clinic. This department is equipped with all most modern physiotherapy equipments i.e. short wave diathermy, electrical stimulator, nemectron edit, ultrasound apparatus, cervical and lumber traction table, microwave units, aerodyne, wax bath, hot pack unit, cold pack unit, infra red and ultra violet lams, quadricep table and various other equipment's.

Workshop

In both sections, qualified and well-trained physiotherapists are providing physiotherapy services. Hydrotherapy is also useful treatment for children and adults. We have two whirlpools for this purpose and we are giving hydrotherapy treatment to our children.

Occupational therapy: The aim of occupational therapy is to help the patients in the development of movement, self-care, communications and relationship with others through a purposeful activity that will allow him to function at a level satisfactory to himself and other. Al-Shifa is providing occupational therapy to its patients for the last several years. Occupational therapy unit is fully equipped and we have qualified and trained occupational therapist in this department.

Speech therapy: Speech therapy is very important feature in the rehabilitation program of these children. Highly qualified and trained speech therapists provide speech therapy to our patient children and adults.

Clinical Psychology: Clinical Psychology plays a very important role in a quick rehabilitation of these special children. Through this method we can easily assess the IQ level of the children that help a lot in the treatment of patients.
